ROOFING SOLUTION FOR KARL HEDIN – UNIFIED ROOFLINE DESPITE DIFFERENT INSULATION REQUIREMENTS
As part of the new construction of Karl Hedin’s building supply store in Knivsta, Takmontage Sverige was entrusted with delivering a technically advanced roofing solution. The challenge was to create a seamless, level roofline despite the building consisting of both heated and unheated sections with entirely different insulation build-ups.

Takmontage Sverige was responsible for the complete roofing installation for both the warm and cold sections of the building. In order to achieve visual and structural uniformity, the steel structure in the cold section was raised by the frame contractor. Our team then took over to ensure the final roof finish and performance were fully aligned across the entire building.

The insulated (heated) part of the building was constructed with a complete high-performance roofing package with 270mm insulation. This build-up ensures excellent thermal performance, low U-value, and a long service life – ideal for heated warehouse and retail spaces.

For the non-insulated (cold) section, a thinner and more cost-efficient system was installed with only 30 mm insulation. Thanks to smart frame adjustments and precise installation, the same roofline could be maintained without compromising on performance or appearance.

The key challenge of the project was combining two technically different roof structures into one unified whole – both in height and aesthetics. Through close coordination with the structural contractor and meticulous planning, Takmontage Sverige delivered a smooth and durable roof with no visible transitions or level differences.

The roof was completed on schedule and to the highest standard. The result is a visually coherent roofing structure that meets both energy performance requirements and economic goals.
